Important notes on course papers (skriveøvelser)

Topic:
Course papers must deal with some aspect of the anthropology of East / Central Europe, and must make use of at least some of the course literature. Otherwise, students may choose the topics for their papers freely.

Oral presentation:
During Week 49, there will be a full-day seminar, when students will give short, oral presentations of their (planned) course papers, which will be discussed by the participants and critiqued by myself.

Length of papers:
Students who follow the entire course will turn in a 10-page paper. Students who follow only one of the two modules (NOT recommended!) will turn in a 5-page paper. Students may write in groups of maximum three people. Two-person groups who follow the entire course should deliver 15 pages; three-person groups should deliver 20 pages.

Turning in your paper:
Course papers must be turned in
before 15.00 on Monday 17.12. If possible, please send your paper as an e-mail attachment to: finn.sivert.nielsen@anthro.ku.dk. If you don’t have or can’t use e-mail, deliver the paper on diskette in the reception. If you are unable to deliver within the deadline, please contact me directly.

Feedback on papers:
Papers will not be graded, but will be returned with comments on Thursday 20.12. Papers that I have received via e-mail will be e-mailed in return to you. Other papers will be left in a marked box in the reception. When you turn in your paper, whether via e-mail or at the reception, please remember to fill out the appropriate form (available in the reception) and put it in my mailbox.
